This U-shaped modern house design Sharon Fraser’s House Located in Byron Bay, the architect’s house has a great detailing and brought the outside atmosphere into the house. The shape giving its distinct values as it takes the advantage of its surrounding views throughout the day. This also means as a factor key in interior spaces allocation.

Exterior areas such as front yard and backyard is intended to engage the family activities as well as for an open space with no inhabitations. Several ‘childish’ elements like a tree silhouette and a bunny decorate the areas. The sculptural artwork which is created by Peter McLisky, through its playfulness, its sense of scale and the introduction of colour expresses an element that engages once more the inside through symbolism.

The swimming pool is a contrast to the hard surface of the fire place near it. They’re placed parallel each other as symbol of the unity of elements used in the project.

The large openings express a space without restrictions which at the same time engage with the landscape. White backdrop dominates the whole interior permanent structure, giving the furniture and the upholstery as an exclusive and unique art objects. Some of the furniture pieces were designed by Fraser herself, emphasising the ambience of the personal character of every space.

The house also supports the eco friendly life by putting the photovoltaic cells on the roof top. It generates electricity for the house and also provides solar hot water, filling a hydronic system to heat up the concrete slab. Via nhit-shis
