This 3′ x 9′ dining table recalls traditional wooden lake boats by MinDay Architects. It has a clean, flat top, a knife edge, and a supple, curved underside. The underside bulges to 3″ thick at the points where 2′ diameter stainless steel legs meet the table with no visible connections (they are removable – threaded to embedded bolts inside the mass of the wooden table). The table was fabricated for the Okoboji House by Colley Furniture Studio using solid White Oak boards as a reference to the trees surrounding the house. Photos by J.R. Forsman.
