The Rubber House in Almere by Netherlands Architects Cityforster

The Rubber House in Almere/ The Netherlands designed by Netherlands Architects Cityforster. It is a traditional house design with modern twist. It is one of 12 houses in the experimental settlement ‘De Eenvoud’ in Almere. The solid wood construction contains of a double storey building part that is connected to the up to 4.80m high major living room via a split level. Except for the façade facing the terrace, the house is completely clad with a black rubber skin. Contrasting the exterior, the appearance of the inner spaces is characterized by the warm surface of the solid wood. The high level of prefabrication allows a precise assembly of the elements as well as a short construction period of only 3 month.
