This small condo was redesigned for a mature couple who wanted to give up the responsibilities of a large family home, to provide the setting for a more simple, more sophisticated way of life.

The living/dining area is designed to comfortably house a large library. Solar shades and Shoji screens are used to shield window walls from the afternoon sun. One of the two bathrooms is designed to be ADA compliant. It also houses an accessible front-loading washer and dryer and features a 5′ wheelchair turnaround. One bedroom became a study featuring contemporary furnishings. The master bedroom offers spots for reading that allow the clients to enjoy the spectacular views from the ninth floor. The kitchen has an accessible sink and appliances that are easily used from a wheelchair, as well as a 5′ turnaround. Pullout drawers are used for storage.
