Modern Context Office Interior Design of Nike Tokyo Design Studio

Office Interior Design Studio of Nike Tokyo Design Studio
Nike Tokyo Design Studio is a office interior designed for Nike Headquarter in Nakameguro, Tokyo. The main objective of the office is to generate new ideas in the cultural background of Tokyo to launch out into the global market. This interior design expresses the cultural identity of Tokyo of the their new office by incorporating the traditional materials and interpreting them into the modern context. “Washi-curtain” is made out of traditional Japanese paper “washi” with de-bossed patterns of cherry blossom, our national flower. This extremely thin curtain separates the spaces visually but not physically; the soft and fragile washi are used to keep a comfortable distance between the workers. The flooring was cast with patterns of tatami, providing a relaxed atmosphere to the office. This is an office design that is not universal, but particular to the local context embodying the colours of Tokyo and the identity of Nike. Designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP Architects.
