This cool and elegant interior design inspiration for the carpet design was based on the State library’s corporate colour red, and a clever connection with the botanical print effects found on the inside of many traditional hard covered books. The botanical graphic that was selected reflects the ‘Harpullia Pendula’, a local native tree that grows around the library area. The same graphic expression has also been utilised on doors and the western external wall. Different colour variations of the carpet were also employed to differentiate floor levels, and thereby ease the process of navigation around the building. The floor carpet designed by Australian based company Ontera, that creates a space was cool and elegant for the State Library of Queensland, these carpets are very suitable for the various environment; public space, government, retail, office, or hospitality and more.
